Khaligraph Jones Goes Online To Share Why He Had A Scuffle With IEBC Officials

With the national elections held on the 8th of August, the young and old showed up at their nearest polling station to cast their vote. The results are still trickling in, with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission yet to announce the president elect. Nonetheless, Kenya’s Twitter kingpins are using social media to share their opinions on the outcomes so far. Below is a collection of  the best tweets on the election results so far.

Many had lots to say about the IEBC (Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission) electoral process, including rapper Khaligraph Jones who caused a stir recently after being accused of bleaching his skin, with a significantly lighter complexion. Among the more charged races to the ballot was in Kiambu County where former Kabete Member of Parliament Ferdinand Waititu and William Kabogo battled it out for the gubernatorial seat. Waititu took an early lead and as the gap increased, it seemed that it was the final nail in the coffin for Kabogo’s dreams of claiming the gubernatorial seat.

Some members of K.O.T even went as far as to comment on the low vote count of some of the more outspoken candidates including presidential aspirant Miguna Miguna. Known as the former advisor to then Deputy President Raila Odinga, Miguna Miguna’s gubernatorial run for the great county of Nairobi has not lacked in comedic relief punctuated with harsh comments.

As the nation awaits the final announcement of the election, it seems that Kenyans on Twitter will not shy away on providing commentary as the events unfold. Follow the conversation on #ElectionsKE ElectionsKE2017 and #KenyaDecides
