Nothing keeps Kevin Hart down.
The comedian, actor, and producer was recently announced as ‘Highest Grossing Comedian’ of all time in Australia. The Philadephia native who began doing local stand-up shows before making it big in Hollywood recently made headlines for securing the opportunity to host the 2019 Oscars only to lose it a day later after homophobic tweets surfaced. The Twitter barrage online and pressure from the LGBTQ community that followed forced the “Night School” producer and lead actor to step down from as host.
A day later while on tour in Australia, Hart is confirmed as the most successful comedian to perform in the island nation. He took to Instagram to thank his fans for the unfailing support. Eager to get over the Oscars saga, he did not even mention the outcome and instead decided to focus on the good news received in Australia. The father of three performed in Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, and Brisbane over the weekend as part of his Irresponsible Tour.

The comedian who lives by the mantra “live, love and laugh” often speaks on hard work and positivity which he seems to live by. Despite the upsetting saga with the Academy committee, many comedians have stepped out in support of the comedian who has hosted the BET Awards in 2011, MTV Video Music Awards 2012, the MTV Movie Awards in 2016 as well as the Saturday Night Show on several occasions.
Among some of the many who stood with Kevin Hart during Oscars hosting saga continued on, SNL host Michael Che addressed the matter in a well-worded monologue. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Che went on to defend Hart on the SNL show, saying, “Didn’t the Academy nominate Mel Gibson for an award just last year?” he asked, referencing controversial racist statements the director made a few years ago. “Also, if Kevin Hart isn’t clean enough to host the Oscars, then no black comic is. The only black comic I know that’s cleaner than Kevin Hart is booked for the next three to 10 years,” Che said as a picture of Bill Cosby was shown.”
Clearly, Hart has moved on and is eager to set new challenges for himself.
