Kenyan Talents Earn Top Nominations For Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards

East Africa is expected to shine in the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMCVA) but only if you do the bare minimum – vote for the homegrown talent at Africa Magic’s Website.

This edition of Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMCVA), a platform that recognizes the best entertainment content in Africa is up and slated for Lagos between May 7 to May 14.

The festival celebrates the best entertainment content in Africa with a focus on the continent’s film and television industry. It is sponsored by MultiChoice Group and seeks to honor talent along 33 categories ranging from film through television acts to the newest category online content.

Stellar East African talent features on this list. The Kenyan nominees include the music-making couple, Nameless and Wahu, whose show, ‘This Love’ is nominated in the best documentary category. The celebrity couple’s show premiered January 16th 2022.

At the same time, Kenyan Sarah Hassan is chosen for the best supporting role for the movie, ‘Just in time’, a movie also nominated in the best series in East Africa category.

Another recognized supporting act is also played by popular actress Mumbi Maina in the series ‘La Femme Anjola’. Kenyan artist Kagwe Mungai earned a place in the list by making the soundtrack in the movie ‘Just in time’. Kenya’s producer Denise Kibisu Ngubuini is also nominated for her movie, ‘A Grand Little Lie’.

Besides, movies and television series, this leg adds a new category of top online social content creators in Africa.

12 categories are open to the audience to vote while the remainder 21 will be decided by a panel of adjudicators. Voting is done via Africa Magic’s website and alternatively, you can follow the social media discussion on @africamagictv and hashtag #AMVCA8. Voting closes on April 29th 2022.
