The Kenyan music industry is in mourning and social media is awash with condolence and tribute messages for fallen renowned music producer Bruce Odhiambo.
The Former Youth Enterprise Fund chairman died on Monday night at Nairobi Hospital where he had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit after developing heart-related complications.
New and seasoned musicians alike have been posting their tribute messages to the late Bruce who many refer to as Brother B or Uncle Bruce thanking him for mentoring them and for being a pioneer in the Kenyan music industry.
Recovering former media personality Jahmby Koikai thanked Bruce for having her back in fighting Endometriosis and even helping her organize a fundraiser. Top Afo pop band Sauti Sol posted saying that Bruce’s contribution to the industry laid the foundation for many artists. Popular Genge musician Nonini said that Kenya has lost a legendary musician, producer and a friend to many. Dj Nruff thanked Bruce for the music.
Veteran musician Juacali eulogized Bruce with a long message thanking him for encouraging him to continue making music, cooking for him during their studio sessions and even flying him and Nonini out for a show in Morocco.

Musician and radio presenter DNG wrote about the fond memories he had of Bruce and recognized his efforts of putting the youth in touch with the government. Kush Tracey posted about Bruce saying that he mentored her and supported her art.
Others who wrote tributes to the late Bruce Odhiambo include Singer Avril, Unbwogable hitmaker and radio presenter Gidi, Dj HypnotiQ, Dj Crème Dela Crème, Former Miss Kenya Shamillah Kiptoo, radio presenter Maina Kageni, Swahili singer Masauti, Kristoff, veteran musician Suzanna Owiyo among many others.
Mr. Odhiambo is reported to have developed heart complications just weeks after returning from India in November 2018 where he had gone to seek specialized treatment. The producer flew to India in October last year to replace his pacemaker, an electrical device implanted under the skin to help manage irregular heartbeats.
