Popular Kenyan tented hotel Mahali Mzuri has been voted the best hotel globally by Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards.
The awards revealed that the hotel is a hit with many for its rooms, location, service, food and value.
Mahali Mzuri is a 12-tented luxury safari camp that is among the 5 hotels located in Olare Motorogi Conservancy, a 33, 000-acre conservancy that is also laden with wild animals.

1.During low tourism seasons, Mahali Mzuri charges Ksh 104, 000 per person

3.Tourists seeking a wild escape from December to January have to part with Ksh 157, 000 from December to early January
4. A group of people willing to rent out all the 12 tents during the festive season have to part with a whooping Ksh 3.8 million during the festive season.
Speaking on Mahali Mzuri’s reputation, General Manager one Wilson Odhiambo had this to say in a previous interview with a local publication: “As human beings, anything that draws us back to nature or to our origin like the Garden of Eden, we will pay for it. People will pay even more to come to a place like this where they are in touch with nature more privately and intimately. Nature takes you back to where it all started, to your roots.”
Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala hailed the hotel for achieving the milestone saying: “Congratulations for Mahali Mzuri Luxury Safari Camp – Maasai Mara , for being voted as the number one hotel in the world, in the 2021 Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards. #MagicalKenya”
Other Top-Notch Hotels
Nayara Tented Camp at Arenal Volcano National Park in Costa Rica came second in the awards, followed by The Opposite House in Beijing, the Capella in Bangkok, Capella Ubud in Bali, Indonesia and Grace Hotel, and Auberge Resorts Collection in Santorini, Greece.
India had the most hotels appearing in the Top 100 ratings with a total of 12 properties.
