Kenyan businesses are making it big, and the fashion brand Ubuntu is flying high.
The ‘Lamu Mule’ from Ubuntu Life was recognized; making the cut to be part of the highly coveted listing. The entertainment mogul is known for her taste for the finer things in life, and the listing only goes to show the high quality produced by Ubuntu Life.
According to an outtake from the Oprah Winefrey Magazine December 2020 edition, the ‘Lamu Mule’ gained favor with the billionaire because of its simplicity. “When I’m rushing out the door, I like something I can just slide on. After creating a center for children with disabilities in Kenya, two pastors (one from Kenya, the other from Texas) went on to start Ubuntu Life, the company behind these smart-looking suede mules handmade by local women.”
Ubuntu Life describe the ‘Lamu Mule’ as a wardrobe essential that is made from carefully selected leather and delicate beading, by well experienced craftspeople.
The mules retail for USD 95.
Meanwhile, according to a report on CNN, Oprah recently interviewed with Former President Barack Obama for his upcoming memoir dubbed ‘The Promised Land.’
“This book was worth the wait,” Winfrey said in a statement. “Everybody who reads it is going to be on this journey from the grueling and monotonous grind of the campaign, to taking us inside the Oval Office and the Cabinet Room and the Situation Room and sometimes, even the bedroom. This book has both the intimacy and the grandeur coming through in this memoir, and I have so been looking forward to speaking with him about all of it.”
The memoir will provide audiences with access to the interesting story of the man born to a Kenyan scholar and a young mid-west woman. The production will be available on Apple+ on November 17th.
