Kenyan Artists Host Show To Raise Funds For Jahmby KoiKai

According to a recent post by comedian Blessed Njungush, Kenya’s biggest names in the music industry are set to hold a benefit concert. The event slated for 18th November 2017, is to be held at the Alchemist Bar to raise funds for mega-entertainer Njambi “Jahmby” KoiKai.

Koikai who went public with news that was suffering from Thoracic Endometriosis in October was met with lots of encouragement in her battle with the chronic disease. A mainstay in Kenya’s lively reggae community, Jahmby is known for being an engaging presenter on The Trend, radio hostnjambi and emcee.

After the news of her illness hit the press as early as late 2016, the popular host went on a press tour to bring attention to the disease that is known to affect many women. Now almost a month after Jahmby bravely shared the severity of her condition, over 2.5M has been raised towards her medical bills, with the total cost of her surgery and recovery estimated at 10M. The reggae community has also responded, organizing a concert with proceeds to all go towards Koikai’s treatment in the United States.
