KEBS hosts 6th national standardization essay competition

The Kenya Bureau of Standards has kicked off its 6th edition of the national standardization essay competition. The competition that first began in 2012, hopes to underline the significance of standardization and quality infrastructure.

The competition that is slated to take place at three levels namely national, regional and continental, is set to reach completion later in the year. This year’s theme is “Role of quality infrastructure and standardization in facilitating trade and sustainable development within the African Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA).” According to an post on the Catholic University of East Africa website, the winners will have a chance of winning for prize money:

  • The winners shall be submitted to the regional level where they shall be graded against other winners from the region. The first 3 regional winners shall then be submitted to the Continental level where they shall be graded to get the first three winners in Africa.
  • The 1st  to 3rd National level winners will receive a monetary token of KES80,000, KES 70,000 & KES 60,000 respectively.

 

With submission deadlines due soon, students are encouraged to submit their entries by 21st February 2018 via the KEBS site.
