Reality star and singer Kandi Burruss has become the first woman to win ‘The Masked Singer’ show.
Kandi who was masked as the Night Angel, was crowned the winner of the celebrity singing show on Wednesday (21.05.20).
From 18 undercover stars to just three, Frog, Night Angel and Turtle made it to the final showdown and battled it out for the Golden Mask.
Frog opened the season 3 finale with an energetic rendition of “Bad Boy for Life” by P. Diddy, Black Rob and Mark Curry. Frog came third and was unmasked as rapper Bow Wow whose real name is Shad Moss.
Then Turtle took the stage for his last turn with a sentimental cover of Lewis Capaldi’s “Before You Go.” The Turtle came in second and was unmasked as ‘Leavin’ singer Jesse McCartney.
Night Angel closed out the evening with a powerful version of Tina Tuner’s hit “River Deep, Mountain High.” But she didn’t always have the confidence to own the stage in the way she did on Wednesday night.
“For so long I had to convince myself that I wasn’t enough,” Night Angel said in her last clue package, adding, “When I didn’t find success as a solo artist, I decided to develop other businesses behind the scenes of music. I did what I had to do because I’m a mother.”
Her kids also inspired Night Angel to participate in the Fox singing competition. “I’m here not just for myself, but for all women and for my little angels to show them it’s never too late to be the person you were meant to be,” she said.
Kandi aged 44 is an American singer formerly of the group ‘Xscape’, actress, reality TV star on ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ and mother of three.
Last season, ‘The Real’ talk show star and singer Adrienne Bailon Houghton came close to winning but settled for number two.
