Moi Educational Center High School is under scrutiny, with the unveiling of its new school emblem.
The “new and improved” school emblem features some sort of sun, the Moi Educational Center High School initials (MECHS) placed on the school crest, with two ink pens placed on the scroll with the school motto “Contendunt Excellentiam”.
Medialink PR and Advertising Company, which was behind the logo’s design noted the Latin inscription it bears, “Contendunt Excellentiam”, means striving for excellence according to prior reports.

Unfortunately, though the school’s intentions to refresh the emblem may have been good; it seems they have only attracted the attention of harsh critics Kenyans on Twitter. Some pointed out that the emblem was poorly designed, as Moi Education Center alumni calling for a change to the design.
How ugly was the previous logo for you to chose this one?

One even questioned how the graphic designer who designed the logo was vetted.

Many pointed out the design techniques used to create the new logo were archaic and sub-par. One commented, “Hehe, very old designing techniques. This is 2020!” “That logo is a joke” while another said, “This was drawn using an infinix phone.” One even offered to help re-design the logo.
I have a friend who does graphic designing, you can commission him for the job, kindly dm. This is poorly done job

According to reports, Moi Educational Center officially expanded offering secondary education in December 2019. With boarding and day options as it opened earlier this year to welcome Form One and Two students, Moi Educational Centre chairperson Paul Chemngâorem said the opening of the day school option was aimed at supporting the governmentâs ambition to realize 100 percent transition of pupils to secondary schools according to Standard Media.
The institution’s school logo was unveiled by Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, on behalf of the school patron, former President Daniel Moi in December 2019.
