Kenyan singer Jovial has been on a winning streak lately.
If you have not been living under a rock, you must have already jammed to her Otile Brown collaboration, Such Kinda Love, which has garnered massive airplay on the charts. Riding on the success of the song, the vocal powerhouse has dropped potential banger featuring Tanzanian rapper Darassa.
Dubbed Usiku Mmoja, the Vicki Pon Dis produced track is an uptempo, sensual record that sees her ask her love interest (Darassa in this context) for nothing more than an all-night fling that will not go beyond the intricacies of a one-night stand. Quite the befitting lyrical content, given the popularized hook up culture in recent times.
The mononymously named, fast rising singer seeks to lure Darassa into a sexual rendezvous, which the rapper agrees to on condition that she will not attach any strings to any words he says, as he raps in his creatively curated verse. ‘’Nataka usike mmoja nawe, nipekete hadi che, ila mapenzi ni we, ‘’ she sensually croons on the irresistible beat.
The singer is showing no signs of slowing down. She posted video snippets of herself in studio with Tanzania’s Juma Jux, insinuating that yet another collaboration with a Bongo hunk is underway.
