The world is reeling from the latest episode of ‘The Red Table Talk’ by actress Jada Pinkett and husband Will Smith.
In the now viral episode, the ‘Girls’ Trip’ actress brings herself to the red table alongside the Fresh Prince of Bel Air to discuss the recent rumours and stories in regards to her relationship with RnB star August Alsina.
The couple who got married in 1997 revealed that four and a half years ago, they were in a bad place and had separated indefinitely. It was at this time that Jada met the ‘I Luv This Shit’ hitmaker at a concert and proceeded to cultivate a relationship.
The relationship was apparently born from the couple’s desire to help the singer through some tough times, with his health and mental state.
“It all started with him just needing some help. Me wanting to help his health, his mental state,” Smith said about Alsina, who has been open about battling an auto-immune disease.
The couple who have two children, Willow and Jaden refuted claims that Alsina got permission or blessing from Will to have a relationship with Jada. They also denied ever addressing these claims previously as reported by various publications.
However, the part that has the world talking is the fact that Jada referred to her affair with Alsina as an entanglement. Not even Will’s quest for clarification on what the term entanglement meant bore answers as the 48-year-old danced around the issue. She also blamed the entanglement on her tendency to be “drawn to people who need help” and her need to ‘feel good’.
“I got into an entanglement with August,” Jada explained.
Jada did not clarify how long the entanglement went on for but she revealed that after awhile Alsina cut off all communication and she hasn’t talked to Alsina in recent years, so she felt it was “weird” that he brought up their relationship now.
As reported by The Sauce, during a June interview for Complex with Angela Yee, Alsina who clearly feels strongly for the āHawthorneā actress addressed relationship rumours.
Alsina poured his heart out saying, “I actually sat down with Willā¦ He gave me his blessing and I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life, and I truly and really, really, deeply loved and have a ton of love for her (Jada). I devoted myself to it, I gave my full self to it.

Will and Jada who are rumoured to have an open marriage also revealed that they are back together saying that their relationship is forever. At the end of the conversation, the duo fist-bumped and said a quote, playing off the line from Willās ‘Bad Boys’ movies: āWe ride together. We die together. Bad marriage for life.ā
Since the video was released on Facebook, fans and fellow celebs have taken to social media to give their input on the revelations. While many cannot comprehend what the term ‘entanglement’ means, others have likened Jada to Future who is notorious for having many women as well as siring seven children and some are making fun Will for being played’ by his wife.
This is not the first time that Jada has had a strong emotional relationship with a man other than her husband. Will Smith previously admitted he was jealous of Jada Pinkett Smith’s close friendship with the late rapper Tupac Shakur, both of whom attended The Baltimore School of Arts. Smith said that he “was deeply insecure” and not “man enough to handle that relationship.”
