J.Cole’s new album ‘KOD’ trumps Taylor Swifts streaming record

J.Cole has made history.

The North Carolina-born rapper’s track “KOD” took the top spot for highest streaming, knocking Taylor Swift’s track “Look What You Made Me Do” down to number two. The album that was released on the 20th of April, received rave reviews from fans, and industry players alike.

The release of the single “ATM” is trending on YouTube since its release with over 8M views and counting. His thoughtful lyrics and distinct flow make his return much welcomed to the hip-hop scene dominated by lackluster lines and mumble rap.

Though many thought that the album’s title “KOD” was an acronym for King of Dreamville, J.Cole went online to address the speculations. He took to Twitter saying:
