It’s too much: Kenyans cross the line as Babu Owino shares images of his son online

Controversial politician Babu, Paul Ongili Owino is known for his loose tongue, making headlines for some outlandish comments. But this time, did Kenyans take it too far in an attempt of giving him a taste of his own medicine?

Probably because he might be one of the most fouled-mouth public figures, Babu Owino is known for clapping back and stirring up lots of drama. However, it seems that some Kenyans went for the jugular when he recently posted a series of images of his son. The sweet images showed a proud father Babu Owino, beaming alongside his son. A softer, more vulnerable side of Owino was out for the world to see; but Kenyans on the Gram would not let the moment be.

The comment section was awash with some unsavory comments teasing Owino and his son for the unusually large ears, and light complexion. One wrote, “uyondio kijanaa, masikio iko ndio thibitisho…” while another joked ” nakaa kushout tibiim!” On a lighter not, another commented “Hizo maskio zenu ni satalit, mnaskiza far..chonjo kapsaa mtu yetu.”

One commenter wrote, “But my prayer is that he resembles your bright brian and big heart but not your loose dirty tongue.” Another pointed out, “Unakuaga tu sawa but sometimes unabehave nka huna familia na kutusi tusi watu.”

Some speculated that Owino and the child in the picture were not actually father and son. One wrote, “hapo ulicheswa” while another adviced the Embakasi East Member of Parliament to take a paternity test.

Owino hardly ever shares images of his family, and the public’s uncalled for behavior could be one of the many reasons why. Questioning some intimate details of his fatherhood and family matters are not issues anyone should comment on; especially so because children are involved.

Did Babu’s Instagram post warrant such distasteful comments?
