Social media is often described as a dark hole.
For celebrities strangers, acquaintances, friends and family are given access to their lives via social media and sometimes the result is not that pretty. Bahati shared an image of himself and his lovely wife Diana Marua on Instagram recently, and a troll went on to spew some unconfirmed information, that made him the subject of a very public dress down.
In the post on Instagram, the ‘Nakupa Moyo’ crooner Bahati captioned the post “Ukiwa na malikama hii kwa nyumba…unatoka ukienda wapi?”

The troll who goes by @davesrikal alleged that Bahati’s wife was a thief. He wrote, “hii mali nimesikia ilikuwa mwizi pale high school.” Without knowing it, he made himself a target for public humiliation, for his reckless comments.
Many asked that he provide evidence for his accusations, and when the so-called tea-master could not do so, others offered him some sage advice. One wrote, “Wacha kuskiza watu..Heri uone na macho.” Another wrote, “pia wwe unyanyonganga na mtu akikuona huku nje hawezi sema safisha kwako bro.”
Some went on to defends Diana’s character. One commented, “Apparently I went to the same high school with here, she was a good gal.”
Among the most succinct comments, implored everyone to be aware of their past, and work on bettering themselves in the present, for the sake of their future. One user wrote, “And after all kila mtu ako na past yake.”
Diana went on to thank the online Insta-family for their support. She captioned the moving post, “I see y’all rooting for me even when we don’t know each other. I hope y’all pick a few things from me here and there…. it’s a cruel world, people will do anything to see your downfall but heeeeyyy, the goal is to FEED YOUR FOCUS, STARVE YOUR DISTRACTIONS.”

Whether or not Diana may have been a petty thief, what matters is her current endeavors. The troll @davesrikal may have just posted the unfounded comment just for attention or to get more followers. However, it is always important to remember that the internet should be a positive place for all users.
