Dr Dre’s 38-year-old daughter LaTanya Young claims she is living out of her car as her father is not supporting her financially.
Per Daily Mail, Young reveals that she cannot afford housing hence is living in her car while her children live with friends, on grounds of what she says is her inability to afford housing in California.
“My kids are staying with friends – they are not living in the car, it’s just me. I’m taking odd jobs just to make it now. I got paid $15 an hour as an assembler at the warehouse. I’m trying to keep my head above water. I’ve been in debt for a while,” she stated.
She further adds that despite working as a DoorDash and Uber Eats driver and assembler at a warehouse, she still cannot make ends meet, resulting in her current woes.
Young divulges that Dre stopped financially supporting her after she did media interviews shedding light on their estranged relationship .
She adds: “I’m homeless and I’ve been reaching out to my dad for help. His lawyer has said that my dad doesn’t want to help me because I’ve spoken about him in the press. I feel like I’m damned if I do, I’m damned if I don’t. I’m just trying to communicate with him and see if he wants to talk to his grandkids. My kids are old enough to know who he is. They are in shock that he doesn’t want anything to do with them.”
She goes on to add that the car she is living in is also a rental and fears losing it as she can barely afford paying for it.
In December last year, Young made headlines when she revealed she had not seen her dad for 18 years and had applied for a FedEx driver job in her quest to stay afloat. Dre and Young’s mom separated when the latter was just 5 years old.
Meanwhile, Dre is hitherto amid a messy divorce from ex-wife Nicole Young. Recent court documents revealed that he has been ordered to pay her a whopping $ 300 million.
