British actor Idris Elba has announced that he has the Coronavirus.
Elba revealed this in a social media post today (16.03.20) alongside his wife Sabrina Dhowre.
In the video posted to his Twitter account, Elba said that he had tested positive for the virus that stirred up the world. He intimated that although he did not have any symptoms yet, he had gone ahead to take the test last week just to be sure.
According to him, he had been in contact with an unamed person who had also tested positive for the virus on Friday.
He reassured his fans that he was doing well and was self- quarantining but also revealed that his wife had not been tested yet.
The ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ 2018 urged his fans and followers to take the necessary precautions in order to be safe from the virus that has so far killed over 5,000 people world wide.
Following Elba’s video, numerous people have come out to wish him a quick recovery while some chose to make light of the situation by replying using his memes. Idris Elba is a top trending topic on Twitter with over 10,000 comments, over 74,000 retweets and as many likes.
Elba is not the first celebrity to test positive for the virus, as reported by The Sauce recently Oscar award winning actor Tom Hanks and his wife announced that they had contracted the virus while in Australia.
The 47 year old is a multi-talented personality, he is a musician, actor, disc jockey and producer.
