She added that “It feels good to be finally recognized for the work that I have been putting in all these years. I’m also glad that my blog has inspired a lot of girls and encouraged many that they can be classy while still upholding their beliefs as Muslim women.”

Currently, a Psychology major student at USIU- Africa, Nasra is revolutionizing Kenya’s blogging space with her unique content. She admits lack of recognition takes a toll on many bloggers. Outlining some of the challenges that she has faced, she mentioned  “putting out aesthetically pleasing content is time-consuming, needs finances, and scouting for good locations is also quite a task”.

The Designer of the Year nominee collaborates with her sister Benazir from time to time to design modest clothing pieces. Speaking about her future plans, Nasra revealed that she  hopes to launch her design business online. This budding fashionpreneur and self-taught designer says that working with her sister is the best thing she could ever ask for. Nasra noted, ” we complete each other…. remove one and the other one tumbles.”

An avid reader, Nasra hopes to write her own book about her life experiences which are funny, sad and cruel.

Other personalities who won awards that night include, Citizen TV’s Jamila Mohammed, Hussein Mohammed, and politician Aden Duale.
