The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) went viral Monday afternoon after the student financing institution sent a text to borrowers. The SMS is a notification to borrowers on new M-pesa payment option.
“You can conveniently pay your outstanding HELB loan via M-PESA pay bill number 200800. Contact us on 0711052000/0711052306 for clarification,” states the SMS.
Twitter has exploded with HELB jabs and jokes with a few people tweeting that they have received the text yet they are still in campus while others have said they didn’t take the HELB loan.
