Harmonize’s video ‘Amen’ taken down From YouTube after Rosa Ree raises copyright claim

The song ‘Amen’ by Tanzanian singer Harmonize has been deleted from YouTube after a copyright claim by rapper Rosa Ree.

On Friday, Harmonize dropped the video as part of the seven-day mourning for departed former Tanzania President Benjamin Mkapa.

Rose Ree claimed the copyright after Harmonize used the beat from her hit song ‘Kenyor Aleng’.

Searching the song on YouTube shows the message ‘This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Rosa Ree.’ From the message, it appears that Harmonize did not consult Rosa Ree’s team before using the beat.

It is worth mentioning that this is not the first time Harmonize music has been pulled down due to copyright claims.

After ditching the WCB records, Harmonize’s first song ‘Uno’ was pulled down from the streaming platform after a copyright claim by Kenyan producer Magix Enga.

Early this year, Harmonize allegedly sampled the ‘Show me the way’ beat by Congolese singer the late Papa Wemba. It was alleged that the singer did not consult Wemba’s team.
