Gengetone star Gwaash hang out with Capital FM’s Fuse presenters Miano Muchiri and Anne Mwaura to teach them a few of the most current sheng words.
The duo battled it out to see who could make meaning out of the list of sheng words and phrases that Gwaash supplied. Gwaash, who recently released a new track dubbed ‘Kalongo‘ confused the duo with his sheng knowledge. The collaboration which was released on June 12th, 2019 has already garnered more than 120K views within a week of its release.
The Koroga Day One headliner has built a reputation for himself in the local entertainment industry and has continued to be a key player in the inception of gengetone, Kenya’s latest musical genre to come out of Nairobi’s urban youth. True to himself, his cheerful and engaging personality shines through his music. Speaking at an interview on Capital FM, Gwaash addresses the plight of the youth who face poverty and joblessness in this time. Speaking to Hits presenters Mandi and Neville, he said that the thug life should not be an option for the Kenyan youth. Instead, Gwaash urged youngins to work legitimate jobs and hustle hard to meet their needs. He also pointed out that it is important to invest in yourself and remember to have a global outlook.
The ‘Wabebe’ crooner will perform on the Koroga Festival stage on 6th July at Tatu City. Gengetone stars Ethic Entertainment are also scheduled to set the stage on fire as Capital FM’s mixmasters DJ Joe Mfalme, DJ Jo Kisila, and DJ Roudge keep the audience entertained through the night.
