When three University of Nairobi civil engineering students met a year ago, they had no idea they would end up working together on an online publication that would expose their latent talent.
But the first year Engineering students have managed to build a unique website that informs, motivates and inspires other students in a relatively short time. The three – Adeline Nyole, Tony Kiprop and WIlliam Wambulwa,– plus Kipkoech Rop who is a Med student at UoN, have created www.sauti.co.ke.
Adeline, who is in charge of content, has interviewed several professionals to get a perspective of their career and what students can learn. The team’s unique approach of video interviews is starting to bear fruit.
“We have done 8 interviews since May but only six have been uploaded. We are still editing the others,” says William, who is the video editor and also the web designer.
“We are now focusing on unique, young entrepreneurs to interview as this is in line with our mission of informing and inspiring the youth,” adds Adeline.
The team has so far interviewed photographer and art director, Joe Makeni, Kendra Nicole, CEO – Kendra’s Fashion House and CapitalFM’s Lifestyle Editor, Susan Wong.
