Half of the millennials prefer ‘Matemas’ rather than a traditional Christmas with their family.
According to new research, one in two enjoy celebrating with their friends more than spending time with their immediate family.
According to research by The Singleton Whisky and OnePoll, most millennials will hold their Matemas get-togethers on Saturday (22.12.18). It’s said one in six think they’ve got the celebration down to a fine art, while a good meal is thought to be the marker of a successful gathering.
Angela Solkesz, Senior Brand Manager, The Singleton commented: “It’s exciting to discover that millennials are establishing and embracing a new Christmas tradition in ‘Matesmas’, hosting festivities and bringing friendship groups together through a new trend in Christmas celebrations.
“Whether it’s mastering the art of hosting, selecting the perfect gift or preparing a delicious aperitif to make sure your guests are having a great time at your party, Millennials seem more than up to the task.”
