Eric Schmidt, Executive Chairman of Google will speak to Strathmore staff and students today at the Auditorium at 5.00pm. Strathmore Law School (SLS) in conjunction with its Centre for Intellectual Property and IT Law (CIPIT) is privileged to host Eric Schmidt in a Town Hall discussion on Innovation.
Dr Eric Schmidt was Google’s CEO in 2001-2011, where he oversaw the growth of the company into a tech giant. He is now the Executive Chairman and dedicates most of his energies to building partnerships and broader business relationships, government outreach and technology thought leadership, as well as advising the CEO and senior leadership on business and policy issues.
The forum, which will be open to all staff and students, will begin at 5.00 pm and guests are requested to be seated by 4.30 pm. Bring your student/staff ID.
Dr Schmidt is keen on interacting with students and this will be a great opportunity for all to learn about the great innovation age and know how to position themselves for it. Google has without doubt revolutionised access to information and propelled the internet age to a new level.
From 1997 to 2001, he was Chief Executive Officer of Novell. From 2001 to 2011, he served as the CEO of Google. Additionally, Schmidt was a member on the board of directors of Apple Inc.
