Eric Omondi Gives The African Classic “Sarafina” A New Spin

Yet again comedian Eric Omondi releases a parody short story based on the South African film Sarafina.

Titled “Saratina,” Omondi’s take on the 1992 film that starred South Africa’s best including Miriam Makeba, John Kani and international star Whoopi Goldberg picks some of the best scenes of the hit film Safarina. The serious subject matter of the original, is transformed into the comedic material and packaged nicely as the ultimate Christmas gift to the Kenyan public.

Complete with similar sets and cast, the parody comes alive with identical dance routines with lyrics that clearly have the Eric Omondi twist. With hard hitting punchlines and hilarious moments, the 9-minute long video leaves the audience wanting more. The excitement continues on across platforms as Omondi shared the release of the short film on Instagram.
