This was revealed when the University exchanged a memorandum of understanding with the foundation.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi, expressed his gratitude to the foundation, for having come to the aid of agriculture students, noting that agriculture is key for the economic growth of the country. Prof. Mbithi said that in order to produce holistic graduates, the University has invested heavily on linkages with industry thus enabling students to acquire the necessary skills for the job market. The University has been working with Equity Bank on a number of initiatives including the Nairobi Innovation Week and Wings to Fly programme .

The Director, Equity Group Foundation, Dr. Hellen Gichohi, noted that the foundation works to improve the lives of Kenyans and has segmented its programmes to support sectors such as agriculture, small and medium enterprises, education, environment and energy and financial literacy. In a bid to improve agriculture the foundation works hand in hand with farmers to help them turn around farms and link farmers to the market.

The Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. John Kimenju and the Director, University Advancement, Mr. Johnson Kinyua are among those present at the ceremony.
