Terrence Howard has finally been awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The 50-year-old father of two was joined by his family as he received the high honor yesterday 24th September 2019. The ‘Empire’ actor has been a mainstay in Hollywood since the early 1990s. The actor who currently shooting the last season of the FOX megahit ‘Empire’ first made his name in Tinsel town in the 1995 films ‘Dead Presidents’ and ‘Mr. Opus Holland.’ Since then, his career has taken off even earning several awards including 5 wins at the NAACP Image Awards, as well as an Academy Awards nod and Golden Globes nomination.
Speaking about his career achievement, Howard said in an interview with Variety, ” To have my name on the sidewalk where people will make their way in hopes of one day having some recognition, it’s humbling, because people will stand on your star and get a feel for who you are, you know, and try and put themselves in your shoes.”
With a career spanning 27 years, Howard’s characters have seen him embody different roles effortlessly. However, Terrence is convinced that playing ‘Lucious’ in Empire will be the last time he would be playing up someone else onscreen. The Chicago born actor noted, “I’m through performing for people. Those days are done. That ends with Lucious.” After years of playing other people professionally and investing his emotions into other artists’ visions, Howard is eager to turn his attention to himself and what his larger purpose in the world may be: “Now it’s time to move forward and really explore who Terry is.”
Though remains unclear what Terrence Howard’s next move is, he could be moving on to bigger things perhaps even directing a movie.
