Popular Kenyan Youtuber Elodie Zone is going on tour across schools in Kenya.

The young social influencer made it big online garnering 12,000 subscribers on her Youtube platform. Hoping to move on from the negativity, Elodie has great plans for the year and hopes to share with the youth her experience is making a living off of social media. In the digital age, digital literacy could help absorb the staggering numbers of Kenya’s unemployed youth. According to The Guardian, “unemployment is a major challenge that affects youth across Kenya. Approximately 800,000 young Kenyans enter the labor market every year and youth unemployment is estimated to be as high as 35%, compared to the overall national unemployment rate of 10%. Furthermore, 80% of unemployed Kenyans are below 35 years old.” Seeking innovative ways to make a living could be the beginning of many getting a means to earning a living. The Capital Campus crew can’t wait to see what Elodie gets up to in 2017.
