Hoping to move on from the negativity, Elodie has great plans for the year and hopes to share with the youth her experience is making a living off of social media. In the digital age, digital literacy could help absorb the staggering numbers of Kenya’s unemployed youth. According to The Guardian, “unemployment is a major challenge that affects youth across Kenya. Approximately 800,000 young Kenyans enter the labor market every year and youth unemployment is estimated to be as high as 35%, compared to the overall national unemployment rate of 10%. Furthermore, 80% of unemployed Kenyans are below 35 years old.” Seeking innovative ways to make a living could be the beginning of many getting a means to earning a living.  The Capital Campus crew can’t wait to see what Elodie gets up to in 2017.
