Eddy Kenzo’s hit song “Sitya Loss” gets a Spanish remake

Award-winning Ugandan musician Eddy Kenzo whose real name is Edrisa Musuuza is best known for his 2014 hit song “Sitya loss”. The song is originally done in Kenzo’s mother tongue Baganda but now the song has been sung in Spanish and it sounds great.

The “Sitya loss” Spanish version titled “Ella Baila” is by a popular Dominican musician Maffio, featuring American-Trinidadian singer Angela Hunte and American deejay DJ Buddha. The song was released on YouTube last month and has close to half a million views on the platform.

The remake has an Afro Tropical vibe, it was shot in the Dominican Republic in Maffio’s hometown and is for all the dancers in the world.

Released four years ago, the original “Sitya loss” song has garnered over 17 million views on YouTube and is Eddy Kenzo’s most popular song to date. The viral video which features Ugandan children Triplets Ghetto Kids dancing to the song was the beginning of the kids dancing careers. The kids have been featured on Frenc Montana’s hit song “Unforgettable” and even performed at the 2017 BET Awards.

Kenzo was born in Masaka, a town in the central region of Uganda. He lost his mother at age 5, after which he lived a street life for 13 years. After high school, he adopted the stage name Eddy Kenzo and began writing music. In 2008, he was featured in the popular song Yanimba by Mikie Wine. His breakthrough 2010 song, Stamina, was met with critical acclaim and was used as a theme song for Yoweri Museveni’s presidential campaign.

The father of two won the BET International Viewers’ Award in 2015 that put his artistry work and career on another level.
