Ed Sheeran has announced his engagement to girlfriend Cherry Seaborn, the Grammy award-winning artiste revealed that they got engaged before New Year in an Instagram post of him kissing her with the caption: “Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx”.

Sheeran, 26 met the 24-year-old Cherry at Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham, Suffolk, England where it all started at a friendship level. In mid-2015, they managed to reconnect and embarked on a long-distance relationship. A year later, in December 2016 it was revealed that Cherry had relocated to the UK to be with Sheeran after their relationship had turned into a serious affair. In 2017, Sheeran revealed he would like to marry Cherry and start a family with her.Sheeran shared details of the relationship in a December interview on the Ellen Degeneres Show.
Cherry Seaborn is reportedly the inspiration behind Sheeran’s big heats including “Shape of you”, “How Would You Feel (Paean)” as well as his latest single dubbed “Perfect” which has been the No. 1 song on the Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for the past three weeks.
