Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry could secure a number of fashion deals.
The royal couple announced earlier that they would be stepping away from “senior royal duties” and plan to become “financially independent” as reported on The Sauce. And it is now believed the couple could draw on the Duchess of Sussex’ connections in the fashion industry.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Meghan is very connected in the fashion industry and there are a lot of major labels who would like to partner with her on projects. There have already been active discussions with Givenchy. Some of these deals could be worth millions of pounds. I’m sure she is going to link some of the initiatives to their foundation.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed they were “stepping back as senior members of the Royal Family” in a statement released on Wednesday (08.01.20).
They shared: “After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment.
“We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honor our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages.
“This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity.”
In the latest updates about the Sussex Royals unconventional decision, it seems the duo are looking into moving to America as opposed to Canada. A recent report by The Sun indicates Markle and Prince Harry reportedly want to make Los Angeles their new home- but only once Donald Trump’s presidency ends, pals say.
Sources reveal the couple may make the move to Tinseltown if Trump isn’t in power after it emerged they will be “stepping back” from their royal duties. A source added, “It by no means an immediate thing but there is a long-term plan to end up back in the US with a second home in Canada. where they will also spend a great deal of time. The couple used the words North America in their statement about where they planned to live deliberately. It doesn’t pin them down to any one place. ”
The couple is yet to clear up any speculations raised about their lives after exiting the Royal Family, however it seems the duo have an interesting life planned out.
