Smirnoff Battle of the Beats has finally come to an end.
The three finalists DJ Roudge, The Twin DJ and Zack the Maestro played to a lively crowd at the Uhuru Gardens last night (22.12.2018). The ultimate finale to the Smirnoff Battle of the Beats saw the trio show off their best skills in an attempt to wow an attentive crowd and become the winner. As the night went on, Zack the Maestro was declared the runner’s up as DJ Roudge top the top spot.
As DJ Roudge was declared the last man standing, and winner of the grueling competition, he was awarded with a pair of Pioneer decks, a laptop as well as one year contract to as a Capital FM Deejay. This being the first competition by Smirnoff, the Battle of the Beats was a 12-week competition which was launched on November 3rd 2018. With contestants coming from Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu, the training sought to harness local talent and enhance their skills in the hopes that they would revolutionize the local music industry. Receiving mentorship from Kenya’s best and most successful deejays including DJ Stylez, renowned DJ Pinye, DJ Creme de la Creme, EDM pioneer DJ Suraj, as well as Capital FM’s own experienced DJ Adrian, revolutionary DJ Joe Mfalme and Radio Boss WDJ, made the experience for the contestants invaluable.
DJ Roudge was congratulated by family and friends and is set to take on new opportunities in 2019.
