The release of the single “Wild Thoughts” has fans buzzing with excitement for the new DJ Khaled album.
DJ Khaled, a former president of Def Jam South, the millionaire has several hits under hit belt and is known to be the King of Mega Collaborations. Wielding lots of power in the music industry, DJ Khaled uses social media and strategic endorsements to further his brand and image. The now father-of-one put up his newborn son Ahsad as executive producer on what will be his 10th studio album, ” Grateful.”
In an interview with Hot 97, DJ Khaled shared his excitement for the new album as well as the collaborations on the new project. Set to drop on 23rd June, Khaled reflecting on his career told Hot 97, one of his raise to the top, he said “being grateful is a major key.”
His latest releases “Wild Thoughts” features Barbados beauty Rihanna and Bryson Tiller on a remake of the Santana classic “Maria Maria”. The track has since seen some negative feedback from fans. Nonetheless, the track debuted and has been trending at the top spot since its release on June 16th, 2017, garnering over 20 million views.
Since the release of the track, Khaled has been on a press tour promoting the album. Khaled was booed on stage at a performance in Las Vagas last weekend. According to Rolling Stone, ” the rapper, who was scheduled for an hour-long set, instead performed for less than 20 minutes before fans booed him off the stage, chanting for Yellow Claw, the next DJ, to take over.” It seems that the road to the top may not be as easy the second time round.
