Tanzanian musician Queen Darleen has come out guns blazing disputing claims that her brother Diamond Platnumz has neglected their father, who sells ‘mitumba’ shoes for a living.
Diamond and Queen Darleen who are both signed to Wasafi Classic Label, share a father but are from different mothers. The ‘Kijuso’ singer opened up on their relationship with their father, saying their financial help will never be enough.
According to a report by Nairobi News, Queen Darleen told Wasafi TV, “Baba ni mtu ambaye alikuwa na hela, lakini hela yake mwenyewe kaitumia na imekwisha hata nikampatia ya kwangu haitaweza mtosha. Kwa hiyo pale tunapojaaliwa kumpa tunampatia, hatuwezi ‘kufosi’ jamii kiambia baba yetu sisi tunamfanyaia hichi na hichi”.
She added that they frequently call their father to know how he is getting on. She also mentioned that they are all in good terms despite the recent controversies on social media. She added that their old man is doing fine and images showing him in ill health were taken in 2015.
“Mzee tunampigia simu na kuzungumza naye mara kwa mara lakini sasa yeye anachokitaka uende na ukifika atakutembeze kwa marafiki zake wote sasa ni kitu ambacho hakiwezekani. Na zile picha anaonekana anaumwa nizatoka mwaka 2015, mwenyewe nilivyoziona nilishtuka na nilichukia sana” she added.
Mzee Abdul Juma has been conducting several interviews in the recent past where claimed his two celebrity children have neglected him despite leading lavish lifestyles. Mzee Abdul has also accused Diamond of refusing to make peace with him for abandoning his mother while he was still a child.
The 34-year-old singer also addressed the claims of having another sister who was introduced to them by their father as false because they are not of the same blood. She further added on the video that the reason why her fans have not heard new music from her as compared to other Wasafi artists is not that she does not have new music is that she paved the way for newbie Mbosso to release his music in time for Wasafi Festival last year.
Queen Darleen whose real name is Mwanajuma Abdul Juma spoke on her 14-year-old son whom she had with a popular Tanzanian media personality that she did not want to be named. Apparently, the reason why she does not post her son on social media is that he does not like the attention that comes with her fame and usually tells the mom to wear clothes that cover her up whenever she visits him in school in order for people not to recognize her.
