Desiigner, Stefflon Don confirmed for Jameson Connect 2018

Desiigner, Stefflon Don and Bas are coming to +254.

Pernod Ricard Kenya, organizers of the annual Jameson Connects Kenya concert today officially announced performing artists, Desiigner, Stefflon Don and Bas as their headlining acts for this year’s concert scheduled for 8th December 2018 at The Waterfront Karen in Nairobi.

21-year-old Sidney Royel Selby III aka Desiigner is a talented American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor. Shooting up to fame in 2016 Desiigner’s debut single “Panda” hit the number 1 spot on the Billboard 100.

He has received a Grammy nomination, two Billboard Music Awards and a deal with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label on Def Jam Records.In 2017, he linked with Diplo on their streaming hit “Suicidal” and collaborated with the K-Pop boy band BTS on their “MIC Drop” remix. With a reputation as one of the game’s most exciting performers, he was hand-picked to tour the world with global star Steve Aoki on his Kolony Tour.

Rapper and singer Stephanie Allen famously known by her stage name Stefflon Don is set to be the second lead act set to entertain the crowd at Jameson Connects 2018. She is best known for her 2017 single “Hurtin’ Me” featuring French Montana which peaked at number 7 on the UK Singles chart.

The British- Jamaican singer has eventually blossomed her career journey since 2015. Apple named her the first “British Up” next rising-star artist with huge collaborations from big names like Sean Paul and Jeremih. Her first mixtape in 2016 ‘Real Ting’ involved working with some of the best in the game including Lethal Bizzle, Section Boyz, and Jeremih which spoke volumes.

Bas, a Sudanese-American rapper whose real name is Abbas Hamad will be the third lead act. Bas has held his own alongside Cole and 50 Cent on the ‘New York Times’, featured in ‘Tribe’, DJ Khaled’s ‘Suffering from Success’ and burnished his own image with the Quarter Water Raised Me mixtape series making it to the most the recent installment of Source Magazine’s 2013 list of Top 20 tapes.

Jameson Connects Kenya 2018, in its fifth edition being first hosted by Pernod Ricard Kenya in 2013. Local acts Nyashinki, Naiboi and King Kaka, known for their sterling performances on the music scene are also on the lineup for the mega event.
