The third instalment of the Bad Boys franchise ‘Bad Boys For Life’ premieres today (17.01.2020) starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.

Buju’s song on the soundtrack is titled ‘Murda She Wrote’, a nod to the 1994 dancehall classic ‘Murder She Wrote’ by Chaka Demus & Pliers.
He had previously revealed on his Instagram page that soundtrack will arrive on January 17, the very same day that Bad Boys for Life–the third movie in the series–opens in theatres.

DJ Khalid who executive produced album took to Instagram to make the announcement. Khalid posted: “CEO of @wethebestmusic I’m honoured to have the official @badboys soundtrack on @wethebestmusic as this is the first release from @wethebestmusic of 2020 with more to come this year! ”
Banton, whose real name is Mark Myrie was released from prison last year after being incarcerated for seven years.
Buju is widely considered one of the most significant and well-regarded artists in Jamaican music. Before his arrest on drug-related charges in 2009, he collaborated with many international artists, including famous names in the Hip Hop, Latin and punk rock genres.
While incarcerated his 2010 album ‘Before the Dawn’ won Best Reggae Album at the 53rd annual Grammy Awards. Buju’s career spans four decades and he has belted out numerous hits. Two of his most famous albums ‘Til Shiloh’ and ‘Inna Heights’ came after his conversion to Rastafarianism.
Its evident Buju is working on his renewed music career, releasing a couple of new tracks since he got out of jail. His singles Bagga Mouth, False Pretense, Country for Sale, Trust and Steppa released since his return may likely be part of his forthcoming, post-prison album.
In between releases of those singles, he started the massively successful ‘Long Walk To Freedom” World Tour which saw the first concert at the Jamaican National Stadium to a huge crowd in March 2019 as reported by The Sauce.
According to The Sauce, he is set to perform in the KICC, in Nairobi, Kenya on the 8th of February 2020.
