Gomez, aged 26, who long held the title, officially dropped to the second most followed Instagram user on Monday 29th October 2018 with 144,390,391 followers.
As of Tuesday, Ronaldo, 33, on the other hand, had acquired 144,536,048 followers. The Portuguese Juventus player footballer who posts regularly amassing a large following on and offline.
The dethroning comes a little more than a month after Gomez announced that she was taking a break from social media amid two hospitalizations. The ‘Good For You’ singer is currently seeking treatment after suffering an emotional breakdown while in the hospital.
