Yvette Nicole wasn’t sure whether her character in the recently released blockbuster ‘Avengers: Endgame’, would be featured until she bought a movie ticket. The 48-year-old actress who has had a massively celebrated acting career admitted that she kept that secret from her friends when filming of the two films, “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame” kicked off.
Marvels studios have, over the past years, made it a habit never to reveal the names of their enrolled actors and actresses who feature in their films. This explains the ‘confusion’ that befell Nicole Brown during her recruitment by the film company executives.
The joyous talk show host who also featured in 2007’s teen sitcom, ‘Drake and Josh’ revealed to CNN that she got the call to star in the Avengers film back in October 2017.
“I was on the set of ‘The Mayor’ for ABC and I got a text from Joe Russo,” she recalled. “He said, ‘Hey, what are you doing two weeks from now?’ And I called him — I didn’t even text back. I called him! ‘Is it? Is this it?’ He said, ‘This is it. It’s your turn. This is the call.’
“I was like, ‘I need next week off because I’ve got to do this thing!’ And luckily, because Marvel is also under the Disney-ABC umbrella, they worked everything out and I was able to go to Atlanta for a couple of days and knock it out,” she said.
The ‘Community’ actress would later leave the set unsure if she was going to appear in ‘Infinity War’ or ‘Endgame’ since production on the two films had overlapped. Contrary to her expectations, she didn’t make it on the big screen.
Brown, a year later, and nearly two years since she originally shot her scenes, while seated in a movie theater ready for the premiere of “Avengers: Endgame” would see the bunker where her character worked!
“I’m sitting there with a group of in my seat like ‘This is going to be it. Oh my God, it’s an elevator! It’s me!’ I’m just sitting there, biting the inside of my jaw. I was so freaking excited, I can’t even tell you. So frigging excited! My friends were, too.” She exclaimed.
Yvette Brown who has worked with big stars in the film industry, including comedy guru Eddie Murphy, would later proudly admit that she kept that secret for two years.
According to a previous report on The Sauce, Marvel Studios will give Avengers: Endgame the push that it likely needs in a bid to surpass Avatar as the all-time worldwide box-office champ by reissuing the movie with additional footage.
