Eric Omondi has apparently broken up with his longtime fiance Chantal Juliet Grazioli.
The comedian who is known for his very public love affair with the young woman penned an emotion message, officially releasing the East African beauty from the relationship. The duo who have continued to provide K.O.T and Kenya’s Instagram community with #couplegoals may have actually been struggling to make things work.
According to the post by Omondi, the two started out a friendship which blossomed into a relationship while Chantal was still quite young. Recounting the relationship, he shared many intimate details including how his love will continue to remain even despite the split. Eric wrote, “I met you when you were only 19…I have known you for 4 and a half years…Shared and created some of the best moments in life with you. You changed my life COMPLETELY…As you move into your new phase in life with or without me I want to wish you all the best, My Love❤️…The paths that brought us together are now facing different directions and as you move on in your path I WISH you the BEST life has to offer.”
The moving post also went on to caution those jilted lovers who resort to extreme reactions after a bad breakup. Omondi gave some sound advice saying, “And to those young Men and Women who prefer to take each other lives at the end of a relationship, let this be a lesson to you all. You do not own a person and it doesn’t always work out.”
Eric Omondi first came into the scene as part of the televised comedy variety show Churchill Show. The later moved on to establish his own comedic acts, growing his brand online via social media. He met Chantal at independence day celebrations where he was presenting in 2013. According to Tuko, “Chantal and her mother were attending an event at Kasarani Stadium where she spotted Eric, the only Kenyan celeb she knew back then. Just like any other fan, she longed for a picture but was too nervous to approach him for one. Her mother approached Eric and asked for a photo which they posed for and as they say, the rest is history.”
The beloved couple dated for four years before getting engaged. The apparent break-up comes amid reported that Omondi was looking for Ksh.80M for their wedding. According to a previous report, the couple’s wedding was still in the planning stages due to the costs. Speaking to The Star, Omondi pointed out “Our wedding hasn’t happened yet because I’m waiting for you [Kenyans] to help me fundraise. I need Sh80 million; for the dowry payment, pre-wedding and main wedding. Soon, I will share M-Pesa number so people can contribute something.”
