Colombian Reggaeton singer Karol G and Trini rapper Nicki Minaj’s hit collaboration Tusa keeps hitting historic record-breaking success, almost 2 years after its release.
The song has now been nominated for 6 Billboard Latin Music Awards.
Released in 2019, the song has amassed colossal critical reception. The song just scooped 6 nods at the upcoming Billboard Latin Music Awards, slated to air on September 23rd 2021.
The nominations are: Crossover Artiste of the Year (Minaj), Hot Latin Song of the Year, Hot Latin Song of the Year, Collaboration, Airplay Song of the Year, Sales Song of the Year and Rhythm Song of the Year.
The new nods come as no surprise, if the enviable run the song has had is anything to go by. Off of Karol G’s 3rd album KG0516, Tusa peaked at #42 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also achieved a major feat after it became first song by by two lead female artistes to debut at #1 on the US Hot Latin Songs chart.
The song was also nominated for two Latin Grammys: Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
Tusa is a Colombian slang word that translates to heartache and desire for revenge when one’s partner breaks up with them.
The song currently boasts of 1.2 billion views on YouTube.
