Months after announcing that all attendees will have to be vaccinated before being allowed entry, Coachella has reversed the regulations.
The blockbuster festival that has not happened for two years owing to COVID-19 will be making a comeback next year, and organizers have now announced that the previously stipulated entry rules have been flipped.
In the new announcement, the organizers say that the only needed requirements will be a COVID test done 72 hours prior to the event, or proof of vaccination.
“After seeing first-hand the low transmission data and successful implementation of safety protocols at our other festivals this past month, we feel confident we can update our health policy to allow for:
“Negative Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours of the event
OR
Proof of full vaccination, ” read the announcement.
“The vaccination policy will be implemented as an open-ended one, with any changes or reversals informed by updates relating to infection rates, transmission data, variant developments, and local and federal regulations,” it further expounded.
As previously reported by The Sauce, Coachella in August announced that attendees at next year’s event would have to be vaccinated.
Coachella will take place in California’s Coachella Valley on April 15-17 and 22-24 next year.
