Chief Justice Maraga awarded a honorary degree from an American university

Kenya’s Chief Justice David Maraga has received an honorary degree from a renowned United States university.

Maraga, who was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Andrews University in Michigan, USA on Sunday (05.05.19), shared the good news on Tuesday (07.05.19).

An elated Maraga said he was honoured to have been awarded the honorary degree by the US institution. The Chief Justice, in his acceptance speech then, said the honour inspired, fired and emboldened him to continue discharging his duties to Kenyans in the administration of justice.

This is Maraga’s second Doctor of Laws honorary after he was awarded another by Daystar University in 2018, Nairobi News reported.

Maraga holds a Master of Laws Degree (LLM) from the University of Nairobi; a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from the same University, and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Kenya School of Law.
