South African rapper Cassper Nyovest has dedicated a song from his newly released album titled ‘Solomon’, to the late Kiernan Forbes popularly known as AKA.
This is despite the relationship between late rapper AKA and Cassper Nyovest being marred by conflict and beef during their careers.
Nyovest shared the news that he dedicated ‘Candlelight’ to AKA at his recent exclusive album launch. Speaking about dedicating the song to AKA, the hitmaker said although they might have been considered enemies, he was affected by AKA’s murder as he used to draw inspiration from him and motivated him to do better.
The late rapper was shot dead outside a nightclub in Durban in February 2023, mere days before the release of his fourth studio album titled ‘Mass Country’. He was only 35 years old and he left behind a daughter named Kairo whom he shared with former girlfriend DJ Zinhle.

“This is a rap album. It’s fully rap,” Nyovest said. “This, for me, is my favorite album. It’s my best album because I’m just myself – I didn’t sing and judge myself. It’s also my most simplest album.”
The 11-track album which is entirely rap is named after his best friend, Solomon More alias Carpomore.
