Capital Fm’s Saturday breakfast presenter Tracy Wanjiru was unveiled as the brand ambassador for Mentholatum Acnes, a leading brand in pimple care during an event this past weekend.
According to a press release by Acnes Kenya, the brand partnered with the beauty due to her efforts in changing the youths’ lives and her passion in daily skin care.
The popular media personality becomes the new face of the Mentholatum Acnes and will champion the brand’s marketing and social responsibility activities across Kenya and Africa.
“I am excited to get this opportunity to champion this brand since it gives me a chance to encourage and inspire youths to face life with confidence. The Mentholatum Acne brand resonates well with Kenyan youths through restoring self-esteem as a result of acne treatment,” said Tracy who also hosts Teen Republik on NTV.
“Most people have had to deal with acne at some point in life. The mental part of dealing with acne is something many people can relate to, and in most cases leads to low levels of confidence”, Tracy noted.
According to dermatological experts, Acne/pimples occur when sebaceous glands become overactive and produce too much sebum. Excessive sebum together with dead cells can block the skin pores and create a perfect environment for acne bacteria multiplication to cause inflamed and pus-filled pimples.
“We want our products to make a positive impact in the lives of our customers. We have invested heavily in Research and Development and we are focused on ensuring the wellbeing of our customers, “ said Mr. Masaaki Ushiyama, Rohto Mentholatum (K) Ltd Managing Director.
The event was attended by great influencers across the country including former Capital FM presenter Anita Nderu, TV host Martin Kimathi, Lindsay lulu, radio personality Shix Kapienga, among many others.
The pimple care brand previously worked with former Miss World Kenya 2015 Charity Mwangi who represented Kenya in the 2015 Miss World Pageant in Sanya, China.
