Capital FM is the home of radio firsts and in 2019 the urban radio station is still making moves with exceptional programming.
Capital in The Morning’s dynamic duo Amina Rabar and Fareed Khimani began their attempt to set the record for the longest radio show in Kenyan history. Honoring INEOS champion Eliud Kipchoge who made history running a full 42 kilometers, the marathon runner made it to the history books running in 1:59:40. And now Amina and Fareed are set to go for gold with their valiant attempt which will see them go on 28 hours of non-stop broadcast on Capital FM airwaves.
The 28 hours will see various guests and pacesetters join the twosome on air; to keep the energy and excitement going, with special prizes to be won for the Capital FM listeners. Among the pacesetters to make it on-air include former Capital FM hosts Pinky Ghelani and television host Anne Kiguta. Current hosts also set to join in include Fuse hosts Miano Muchiri and Anne Mwaura, The Jam hosts Martin Kariuki and Joey Muthengi, Hits984’s Miss Mandi and Neville, Saturday Music and Sports crew alongside the Football Sunday presenters as well as Capital’s Capital Jazz Club Jacob Asiyo and Kiama Mwiti.
Special guests planned to be part of the 28-hour extravaganza include corporate titans KCB Marketing and Communications Manager Angela Mwirigi, Christine Mwaura, Smart Solution’s and Capital Fm’s Mary Murigah, KICC CEO Nana Gacega as well as Kenya Airways CEO Sebastian Mikosz.
