Canadian rapper Tory Lanez released his ‘International Fargo’ mixtape which features ‘Soco’ and ‘Fall’ covers.
The 5-track mixtape includes covers of two massive Nigerian songs: Wizkid’s 2018 hit ‘Soco’ featuring Terri, Ceeza Milli, and Spotless which has over 44 million views on YouTube. He also did his rendition of Davido’s ‘Fall’, which has become the most-watched Nigerian music video on Youtube garnering over 112 million views and the longest charting Nigerian pop song in Billboard history, OkayAfrica reported.
It also features covers of tracks from French-Malian singer Aya Nakamura, Jamaica’s teen music sensation Koffee and Stylo G’s “Touchdown” remix featuring Nicki Minaj and Vybz Kartel.
“Just dropped 5 remixes to some songs I like,” Lanez added, “International Fargo is out now for free!!! Not on Apple or Spotify cuz, it’s not an official release but it was fun and I hope my fans enjoy it while we wait for new music.”
The artist whose real name is Daystar Peterson had recently teased the project while on tour with Drake in Europe. “I was on the couch wondering if I should make the most out of my Europe experience and drop a free tape full of the remixes to the hottest international songs right now!?! … I’d call it #InternationalFargo,” Lanez wrote on Instagram.
Tory Lanez who claims he has ghost-written songs for artists such as Akon (“Been Gettin’ Money” with Jeezy), Casey Veggies (“Actin’ Up”), August Alsina(“My Niggas” with Meek Mill), as well as T.I. and Travis Scott is popular for his collabos with Sean Paul ‘Tek Weh Yuh Heart’ and ‘We Can’ with Kranium.
