Previously, the ‘Bodak Yellow’ had been rumoured to be the headliner for the popular Jameson Live concert scheduled to be held on the 7th of December 2019. The speculations were further fuelled by rapper Wangechi who recently tweeted, “Its Cardi B, start saving.”
The annual Jameson Live concert organisers have yet to announce the headliner for the 2019 edition. Jameson Live is known to bring some of the biggest hip hop acts to the country. Some of these international stars include Desiigner, Stefflon Don, Ty Dolla Sign and 2 Chainz just to name a few.
The rapper had previously cited that the only time she will be performing for the rest of the year would be upon her arrival to the motherland.
“I got one more show in 2019, and that’s in Africa,” she said in the video which was taped backstage after what appeared to be her most recent performance in the United States.
Cardi B aged 27, who was once a stripper found fame in the hit reality show, Love and HipHop New York. Shortly after her rapping career skyrocketed and she is one of the most hard-hitting female rappers in the industry currently. She bagged a Grammy this year for her album ‘Invasion of privacy’, was cast in the movie ‘Hustlers’ as well as the upcoming ‘Fast and Furious’, landed endorsement deals with brands like Fashion Nova and Pepsi.
Following the viral video, Kenya, South Africa and Nigeria were among the countries that many speculated the mother of one would perform at.
