Blaze Be Your Own Boss, Gives The Youth Skills To Startup A Business

Safaricom’s youth targetted communication tariff Blaze highlights the need for the youth to gain independence and venture into business. Part of it youth initiative is a show, Be Your Own Boss to mentor young entrepreneurs on the skills required to create a great startup. As the first episode kicked off on the highest point of Kenyatta International Conference Center, the 2 teams; A-Team and Team Hypemasters of 6 contestants each, were tasked with the job of managing King Kaka’s artists Femi One and Timm T-Dat. The teams were judged by how well they managed their time with 48 hours to record a new song, organize a radio interview and host a listening party. For the first episode of the series, it seems the bar had been set quite high.

 

 

After all was said was done, the two teams went head to head which saw team lead of A-Team,  Keith Asumba take the fall for the team, being the first to be eliminated from the show. In an interview with Capital FM’s Amina Mohammed on After Hits, the first contestant evicted shared his experience as well as his hopes for his career after the show. Accompanied by marketing mogul Trushar Khetia, the duo came over to Capital FM studios to share how the show encourages youth development, by sparking an entrepreneurial spirit amongst them.
