In what seems like the biggest hope to the Kenyan industry yet, Blankets & Wine, through its founder Muthoni Drummer Queen has promised an all Kenyan line up this Sunday April 2, 2023, which will be held at Laureate Garden, Kasarani, Moi International Sports Centre.
Kenyans have expressed their thrill hoping for nothing less of last year’s experience in December when Blankets & Wine made a huge comeback after a long break. Many lauded the organization, live performances, and setup.
The concert headlined by CKay, Savara, and Musa took place at the same venue. Apart from the headliners, it had a very diverse lineup of other performers including Wakadinali, Wangechi, Basthma, The Only Rosa, Suraj, Kato, Polaris, Wendy Kay, DJ Shinki, Ethan Muziki, Them Mushrooms, Winyo and Maga & Band Manners.
“We polled our audience base and the results are undeniable; our people have demanded an all-Kenyan line up,” Says MDQ says. This year, headlining the event will be the undeniable Nyashinski, the legendary Les Wanyika, Boutross, Nviiri, Okello Max, Xenia Manasseh, Lisa Oduor and Kinoti.
The music festival has a running edition in Uganda with others being held in Rwanda. Continuously curating great experiences for its audiences, the festival has grown to deliver international standards. The singing-cum-rapping festival founder, and showbiz entrepreneur is now plotiing future. She added: “We have reached a good place as a festival and an organisation because of the impact we have had. We hope to use our platform to bring attention to the strides that Kenyan artist have made.”
Intently curating the the festival to give the most value and give the artists, vendors and audience the best experience, future editions will offer more variety for all in attendance.
