Kenyan gospel musician Jimmy Gait has released his last song.
The ‘Signature’ hitmaker released the song dubbed ‘Makuu’ a couple of days ago. In the song, he gives thanks to God for saving him from a near-death experience.
“I thank God for the opportunity to serve Him and praise His name through this song ‘Makuu’. I wrote the song as I reflected on the many miracles God has done for me. In the month of AUGUST 2019, I travelled to India for treatment due to a throat problem that had been frustrating me for three years,” posted Gait.
He, however, seems to contradict himself in the new song by cautioning his detractors that he is not quitting the music industry any time soon. This has left many fans wondering what is next for the singer and it might just be what Gait wants in order to remain relevant.
The description of the video reads in part, “This song is a praise to God for saving me from ending my ministry for Him and the death that was staring at me through Cancer. In this regard, the song marks an end to a chapter in my ministry, transitioning to a higher calling. For them that have been thinking and saying that am quitting music, allow me to bring it to your attention that I can’t quit music. After God’s healing, I choose to rededicate my life to Him for more service; more music, more impact and broaden His work in my life.”
All this is after he announced that he had shot his last video in India where he was receiving treatment and was marking the beginning of a new chapter in his life which he did not clarify, as reported by The Sauce.
‘Makuu’ has since garnered over 26,000 views on YouTube.
